Norma Jean “Jeanne” Livengood, 91, of Navarre, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at The Gables of Canton. She was born in Navarre on December 10, 1934, to the late Lester and Mildred (Provost) Thompson and remained a lifelong resident of the community she loved.
Jeanne was a 1952 graduate of Navarre High School and was a devoted member of Otterbein United Methodist Church. She retired following 27 years of dedicated service in the dental office of Dr. Larry Seward, DDS.
Jeanne was a woman of strong faith who found great joy in helping others. She had a generous and caring heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Above all, her family and friends were the center of her life. She loved them deeply and treasured the special relationships she shared with each of them. Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Livengood, who passed away in 2002; her son, Douglas Hofsteter; and her sister, Mary Isler.
Those who will carry her memory in their hearts include her daughter, Cindy Henry; grandchildren, Jason (Lindsey) Henry and Jyl (Bob) Henry; great-grandchildren, Zach, Cecilia and Ada Henry; her brother, John (Gerri) Thompson; her sister, Beth (Daniel) Morris; and brother-in-law, Ronald Isler.
In keeping with Jeanne’s wishes, there will be no public services at this time. A private inurnment will be arranged by the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jeanne’s honor to Advantage Hospice, 4141 Fulton Drive NW, Canton, OH 44718.
Jeanne’s life was a testament to faith, kindness, and the love she so freely gave to others. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she shared and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of her family and friends for years to come.
