Ralph Conway Stephen
Age 87 of Canton passed away peacefully in his home on February 7, 2021 with his wife and three daughters at his bedside. Ralph battled cancer like a soldier for 5 years. He was born July 23, 1933 to the late Roman Jacob and Jennie Stephen.
During the Korean War, Ralph was drafted to the U.S. Army’s Corps of Engineers, serving in Spain. He worked 40 years for the Timken Company. Ralph loved to hunt and was an official scorer for Buckeye Big Buck Club, Pope & Young, and Boone & Crockett for 30 years. He was also an active member of the GRA.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Norma, of 62 years. They enjoyed 29 years of retirement “dancing the night away” with numerous dance clubs. Ralph spent his entire life fully devoted to loving and giving to his family and is survived by his three daughters - Diana (Donald) Miller, Natalie (Luis) Aponte, and Jeanine Stephen, along with their five grandchildren - Destiny and Donny Miller, Jessica and Louie Aponte, and Roman Stephen-Huston. Ralph is also survived by seven of his siblings.
Ralph was an honest, faith-filled man active in his North Industry Methodist Church. He was hard-working and would do anything to help anyone. His family calls him “one-of-a kind” and says God broke the mold after him. He will be greatly missed, but please celebrate this man’s wonderful life and an end to any pain in God’s Kingdom.
The family gives special thanks to the beautiful staff at Community Hospice and Aultman Hospital. A private ceremony was held with his immediate family and grandchildren. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Ralph’s name in the hope for a cure one day. Condolences or fond memories may be shared online at www.sandersfuneralhomes.com.
