Rebecca "Becky" J. DuBois

Rebecca “Becky” J. DuBois, age 72, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Louisville Gardens Nursing Home.

Born on May 3, 1952, in Canton, Ohio, Becky was the daughter of the late Leo and Ova (Hogge) DuBois. She was a proud graduate of Marlington High School and earned her teaching degree from Anderson College, now Anderson University.

Becky devoted 38 years of her life to teaching at Augusta Elementary School, where she touched the lives of countless students and colleagues with her dedication, warmth, and gentle spirit. Known affectionately to her students as “Miss DuBois,” she was passionate about education and poured her heart into her work every day.

A woman of deep faith, Becky was a longtime and active member of East Canton Church of God. She faithfully served as the Sunday School Superintendent for many years, contributing to the spiritual life of her community. Becky also served as the church secretary.

She is lovingly remembered by her sister Lydia (Richard) Bowman; nephews, Aaron (Macy) Bowman and Adam (Samantha) Bowman; and her niece, Leigh (Matthew) Crone.

Becky was known by many names— Miss DuBois, Rebecca Jane, Becky, Bec—but the title she held most dear was “Aunt Becky,” a name spoken with love and admiration by her niece and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 1st from 5-8 p.m. at the East Canton Church of God 201 Nassau St. E., Canton, OH 44730. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 2nd at 11am at the church with an hour of visitation prior to the service. Pastor Greg Smith will officiate. Becky will be laid to rest at Freeburg Cemetery.
