Robert C. “Red” Miller

Age 91, of East Sparta, passed away Tuesday July 18, 2023, in his home. He was born July 8, 1932, in Rittman, OH to the late Leonard F. and Elsie (Ammon) Miller. Red was a 1951 graduate of Canton South High School. He retired from Dayton Freight and J.M.W. Trucking after many years serving as a truck driver. He was a very active member of the former Moreland Christian Church for more than 60 years, where he had served as an elder and board member. Red was an avid gardener, woodworker, Cleveland Guardians fan and passionate for the Elkorn Valley Christian Service Camp. He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley I. Miller in 2014; one son, Jeffery A. Miller in 2010; three brothers, William, Leonard, and Jim Miller; one sister, Frances Smithberger. Red is survived by four children, Rick and Pamela Miller, Lori and Dana McCray, Candi and Roger Durbin, Rob and Patty Miller; one daughter-in-law, Linda Miller; seven grandchildren, Sheri, Janette, Jeremy, Joshua, Tiffany, Brooke, and Michelle; ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie and Paul Smith. A celebration of life service will be Monday July 24, 2023, at 11:00am in the Advancing the Kingdom Ministries (former Moreland Christian Church) with his son, Rick Miller officiating.
