Robert M. Youtz
Age 80, of East Canton, passed away Monday March 8, 2021 in Allay Senior Care at Myers Lake following a period of declining health. He was born December 6, 1940 in Canton, Ohio to the late C. Jason and Mary (Kinemond) Youtz. Robert was raised on the 6-generation family farm in Mapleton and was the 5th generation to continue farming his entire life up until the last year when he puttered around on the farm. When he was a child, he showed dairy cattle in 4-H at the Stark Co. Fair and played his trumpet in the ECHS band. Robert graduated in 1958 from East Canton High School. Upon graduation, he entered the work force at The Timken Company where he retired as a supervisor after 47 years. As a young man, he was well known as Bob (one of the Chevy Boys) drag racing his 62’ red ‘Vette that took him all the way to the international races finishing 7th place. Robert also enjoyed watching sports especially his Browns, Indians, and NASCAR. He was a faithful member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Louisville and a member of the Builder’s Sunday School class. Robert is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Connie (Slaybaugh) Youtz; two brothers, Warren and Russell Youtz. He will be missed by his children, Terri and Robbie Youtz; sister, Virginia Shearer; sister-in-law, Marsha Youtz; friends and family. A graveside service will be Monday, March 15, 2021 at 10:00 in the Mapleton Cemetery.
