Rodger K. Trompower

Age 81, of Canton died Tuesday, December 6, 2022 in Aultman Compassionate Care Center following a brief illness. Born January 13, 1941 in Orrville, Ohio to the late Gareld L. and Evelyn M. (Bucklew) Trompower. He was a Canton resident most of his life and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1991 with 33 years of service. Rodger was a member of St Mary/St. Benedict Catholic Parish, Caldwell Lodge #330, F.&A.M., Bolivar, charter member of Canton South AARP, Pike Grange, Canton Horseshoe Club, Father &Son Hunt Club, and was active with amateur radio with call number of KA8FTS. Preceded in death by an infant son, Terry Lynn Trompower; a sister, Lois Hattery. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen L. (Thouvenin) Trompower; one daughter, Michelle (Terry) Hinkel; two sons, Michael (Michelle) Trompower, Robert (Sheri) Trompower; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Gary (Cynthia) Trompower, David (Pam) Trompower; two sisters, Dawn Hayes, Holly Ann Sheridan; his canine companion, Boots. Following Rodger’s wishes cremation will take place and there will be a Celebration of Life Service at a later date.
