Rodney A. Derbyshire 82 of Canton Township passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday September 10, 2025 at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Medical Center. He was born on January 14, 1943 in Adrian, MI to the late Burdette Maynard and Beulah (Logan) Derbyshire.
Rod retired from the Timken Company as a computer analyst. Recently he was working for Uber Eats as a driver. Rod was a fan of all Cleveland sports, the Cavs, the Guardians and most especially the Browns. Every year he would say “We’ll get them next year.” He never gave up hope in his Browns.
Rod also enjoyed bowling, up until a few years ago he was part of two bowling leagues. His hard work earned him on two separate occasions a perfect score game of 300.
He was a member of North Industry Christian Church in Canton, OH.
Preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Paula “Denise” Derbyshire; brother, Keith Derbyshire; sisters, Sharon Gramling and Janice Jones; sons, Paul (Debra) Derbyshire and Ted Derbyshire; daughter, Leah (Carlos) Escareno; six grandchildren, Miranda Derbyshire, Kiara Derbyshire, Arianna (Marcus) Johnson, Cole Sterling, Savannah Sterling and Carson Sterling; one great-grandchild Macsen Johnson.
Rod was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed.
Friends and family may call the same day, Monday, September 15, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home, internment at Melscheimer Cemetery will follow.
