Ronald L. Layton

Age 81, of Canton died Friday, March 18, 2022 in Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital following an extended illness. Born February 15, 1941 in Peru, IN to the late Gerald and Rosella (King) Layton. He was a Canton resident for the past 54 years. Ronald was a retired purchasing manager in the injection molding industry and also retired from Walmart. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. Ronald was an avid golfer. Preceded in death by a son, Aaron Layton and a daughter, Ronda Layton. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Lynn (Armstrong) Layton; a son, Brent Layton; daughter-in-law, Dana Layton; eight grandchildren, Melissa, Ashley, Jenna, Kayla, Wyatt, Brooke, Cross and Nathan; three great grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Grandstaff; several nieces and nephews; his canine companion, Sir Winston. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Fellowship Baptist Church, 3741 Fohl St SW, Canton, OH 44706, with Pastor Timothy Brown and Pastor Garry Gentry officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 am.
