Ronald P. Shafer
Age 56, of Canton, passed away Thursday October 21, 2010 in Mercy Medical Center. He was born July 29, 1954 in Canton to the late Raymond and Mary (Joy) Shafer. Ronald was a graduate of East Canton High School and employed by Wal-Mart for the past 6 years. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #481 and Sons of the American Legion #44. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Becky Johnson; one brother, David Shafer. He is survived by one brother, Jim Shafer of East Canton; two grandchildren, Scotty and Alanah Johnson of Canton; sister-in-law, Paula Helsel of Athens, OH; three nieces, Brandy Levy of Canton, Sarah and Ericka Shafer of East Canton; good friends and extended family, Pam Shafer, Nyki and Butch Beasley and family, Malcolm Varner, Jen and Brandon Wilson and Beverly Moore. A graveside service will be conducted at a later date. The Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton is handling arrangements.
