Russell J. Eaton

Age 62, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024, in Cleveland Clinic Mercy Medical following a brief illness. He was born October 16, 1961, in Canton to the late Roy and M. Frances (Downard) Eaton. Russell was a 1980 graduate of East Canton High School. He was employed by Acme Fresh Markets as manager of the meat department and was a meat cutter for 43 years. He was a life member of the NRA, member of the Mapleton Gun Club, and the Greyhound Gathering and Adoption Group; he and his wife had fostered more than 300 dogs. In addition to his parents, Russell is preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Robert Eaton. He is survived by his loving wife, Wendy S. (Laughlin), to whom he was married 40 years; one brother, Glenn (Robin) Eaton; one sister, Margaret (Wayne) Kaser; one sister-in-law, Pat Eaton; his four-legged companions, Newton and Pirate; 4 nephews, Zack and Adam Eaton, Dan and David Kaser; one niece, Cheryl Truppo and all their families. A celebration of life service will be Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 4:00pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton. Family and friends will be received two hours before services on Saturday from 2-4 pm. The family requests no flowers; memorial donations may be made online to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in his memory.
