Ruth Ann Parsons
Age 70, of East Canton, passed away Monday May 31, 2010 in the Laurels of Canton following an extended illness. She was born May 17, 1940 in Canton to the late Harley D. and Belle N. (Griffin) Fether and was a Robertsville and East Canton area resident most of her life. Ruth was a 1959 graduate of Minerva High School and was self-employed in home health care and elderly assistance. She was a faithful member of Indian Run Christian Church where she had served in many capacities including, Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School Chair and with her husband worked with the junior high and youth group for many years. She was formerly active with the TOPS program. She is preceded in death by her parents; foster parents, Elza and Jennie McGrath; numerous brothers and sisters. Ruth is survived by her husband, Ken J. Parsons to whom she was married 47 years; three daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and Mike Bloodworth of North Industry, Lori and Doug Deitle of Green, Gwen and Shaun Martin of Copley; one son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Gail Parsons of East Canton; eight grandchildren, Megan, Erin, Kayla, Nate, Tara, Andrew, Sara and Mia; one brother and five sisters. Funeral services will be Friday June 4, 2010 at 11:00am in Indian Run Christian Church with Terry Bailey officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Thursday 5-8pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton and one hour before services at the church (10-11am) on Friday. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Indian Run Christian Church Building Fund at 8368 Hill Church St SE, East Canton, OH 44730.
