Sally L. King, age 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2026, in Altercare of Louisville, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, on August 2, 1935, to the late Rex and Marguerite (Hagaman) Kester. Sally was a proud 1953 graduate of Toledo Waite High School.

After moving to Canton, Sally became an active and devoted member of Peace Lutheran Church. Her faith was the foundation of her life and was evident in her dedication to serving others. She was deeply involved in the church’s Salt and Light Food Program, Outreach Program, Vacation Bible School, and Summer Youth Camps. Sally had a special gift for making people feel welcomed, valued, and at ease.

Her passion for uplifting others extended into the community. Sally served as Past President of the local chapter of P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization), where women motivate, educate, and celebrate one another by providing educational opportunities. She faithfully served in this leadership role for 18 years. She was also devoted to East Ohio Emmaus for more than 25 years, supporting its mission of spiritual renewal and growth.

Sally and her husband Don served together in many clubs and organizations over the years. Her unwavering love, guidance, and selflessness helped shape the lives and successes of her children and husband. She loved her family fiercely and was extremely devoted to its members. She will be remembered as a dedicated, compassionate, and vibrant woman whose faith, kindness, and love touched countless lives. She will be deeply missed.

Sally is preceded in death by her parents, and her son Douglas King.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of over 70 years, Donald H. King; her two sons Donald (Kathleen) King and David (Susan) King, and her daughter-in-law, Betty King; her seven grandchildren: Stacey (Harrison) Parker, Stephanie (Nathan) King, Sally (Stephen) Moss, Kathryn (Curtis) Morgan, Emily (Dustin) Currier, Sarah (Ben) DeCelle, and Patrick King. She is survived by five great-grandchildren: Landon and Heath Morgan, Scottie and Mack DeCelle, and Josephine Moss.
