Steve "Stoney" Stoneking

Steven Carl "Stoney" Stoneking, 64, of Bolivar, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. His life was one defined by laughter, community, and a deep love of his family.

Through his vibrant sense of humor and larger-than-life personality, Steve cultivated a vast and active network of friends and loved ones by whom he will be greatly missed. He was the sort of person who could find common ground with any stranger, crack a joke at the perfect moment, or travel anywhere in the world and somehow encounter an old friend.

An avid sportsman and skilled marksman, he enjoyed hunting and spent many years competing in a high-power rifle league. He was a member and former officer of Mud Run Sportsman's Association and regularly volunteered his time to teach firearm safety to youth members. He also found great joy and peace in traveling to his family home in West Virginia to enjoy time in nature and spend time with his many cousins.

Steve was also a dedicated family man - a devoted husband to his wife Jaime of 38 years and a loving and involved father to his two daughters. He was his children's biggest supporter throughout both their childhood extracurriculars and their adult ambitions. Always generous with his time and resources, he spent over a decade as a well-loved volunteer and chaperone for Tuscarawas Valley Bands, never missing a game, field trip, or performance. He was also a member of First Christian Church in Canton, which he attended with his wife and his daughter Madison.

Steve is preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Mahlon and Barbara Ramsier.

He is survived by his wife Jaime, his two daughters Ashley (Kyle) Vonderau and Madison Stoneking (Jeremy Gassman), his parents Ralph and Janet Stoneking, his two brothers Bret (Victoria) Stoneking and Scot (Tina) Stoneking, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit at Kreighbaum Sanders Funeral Home, 4041 Cleveland Avenue S, Canton, Ohio 44707, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 2pm until 4pm. The funeral service will begin at 4pm with family friend Jeff Edwards officiating.
