Susan Kay Wanner

Susan Kay Wanner, age 65, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Canton, Ohio on August 7, 1960 to the late Robert DeVault and Nadine (Caley) Nolen. She remained a lifelong resident of the Canton area.

Susan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest joy in life was her family. She shared a deep and lasting love with her husband, Richard, and was an incredibly proud mother to her twin children, Jordan and Ali. Nothing brought Susan more happiness than being “Grammy” to Isla, Emery, Everett, and Elowyn, with another precious grandchild on the way. Her grandchildren were truly the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Whether through her warmth, encouragement, humor, or unconditional love, Susan made those around her feel deeply cared for.

Susan earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Community Counseling, followed by a Master’s Degree in Social Work. She later retired from Canton Local Schools, where she proudly served as the School Counselor at Walker Elementary School. She touched countless lives through her compassion and kindness, and she will be remembered for the care she showed to everyone she met.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her stepfather, Skip Nolen, and a brother-in-law, David Wagner.

Those left to cherish her wonderful memory are her loving husband, Richard Wanner; her twin children, Jordan (Samantha) Wanner and Ali (Samuel) Fell; her beloved grandchildren, Isla, Emery, Everett, and Elowyn, with one more grandchild expected soon; her sister, Tawnya Wagner; many nieces and nephews; as well as countless friends who supported and loved Susan in tremendous ways.

Per Susan’s wishes, cremation has taken place and the family plans to have a celebration of her life at a date to be determined.
