Thelma Jean Friend

Thelma Jean Friend, age 79, passed away on April 18,2023.

She was born on August 15, 1943, in Philippi, West Virginia to Fairest C. and Atha A. (Bolyard) Funk.

Thelma was employed by Republic Steel as a crane operator for 32 years and attended the Canton Baptist Temple.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Mitchell (Betty Russell) Friend, Matthew (Rebecca) Friend; sisters, Mary Funk, Erma (JR) Newsom; grandchildren, Meghan (Wayne) Mayle, Morgan (David) Hall, Hannah Friend, and Stephen Friend; great grandchildren, Theo and Hailie.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Chylene Hebebrand.

A funeral service will be Monday, April 24, 2023, 12 noon in the Sanders Funeral Home with Pastor Jake Tovissi officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
