Timothy A. Baley, age 73, went to be with his Lord and loved ones on April 4th, 2026. Tim was truly one of a kind and was loved by many, many people. He touched lives everywhere he went. Always quick with a smile, an imitation (Elvis, SpongeBob, John Wayne), a funny saying, festive bling, or a word/sentence pronounced backwards... he just brought joy!
Born with cerebral palsy, he overcame many challenges and lived a very impactful life. God gave Tim the incredible gift of playing piano by ear. He entertained people around the country, including US presidents, as well as in 13 countries around the world, and won a gold medal at the International Piano Paralympics in Yokohama, Japan. One of the highlights of his life was playing a duet with Liberace. Give him a piano, and Tim could gather a crowd of all ages!
More than anything else, he had a rock solid faith in Jesus. Every facet of his life was shaped by his faith.
He will be greatly missed by his family, as well as the residents and staff at the Canton Christian Home, and his Disability Ministry Class at First Christian Church in Canton.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Rosemary and Gerald Baley.
He is survived by his cousins, Dr. Stan and Diana Brechbuhler, Kittie Brechbuhler Clarke, Kim Brechbuhler and Christine Palombo, Kraig and Wendy Brechbuhler, and Jim and Cheryl Brechbuhler, as well as many second cousins and friends - all of whom loved him very much.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and residents of the Canton Christian Home, Tim Bussey, Ryan and Melissa Wolfe and volunteers of the Disability Ministry at First Christian Church, and numerous friends who loved Tim and took him out to eat... he loved those times of visiting with friends over a good meal. You are all very much appreciated!
Memorial contributions in Tim's honor can be made to the First Christian Church Disability Ministry, 6900 Market Avenue, North Canton, OH 44721, or the Canton Christian Home Benevolence Fund, 2550 Cleveland Avenue NW, Canton, OH 44709.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Canton Christian Home at 2:30pm on May 1st, 2026 with Jim Brechbuhler officiating. Tim's friends and family can visit together beginning at 2pm and continue after the service until 4pm. If you plan to attend, we ask on behalf of the health of the residents, that you are free of any cold or flu symptoms.
Feel free to wear a fun accessory in Tim's honor! Thank you.
