Virginia "Ginny" Hamill

Virginia (Ginny) Hamill, 88 of Canton passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026 at home. She was born November 28, 1937 in Martins Ferry, Ohio to the late Lee and Iris (Albright) Cannon.

Ginny was an avid reader and enjoyed crafts and she was a huge animal lover. She truly loved spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lonnie M. Hamill.

Ginny is survived by one daughter Carol (Alan) Walton of Magnolia, Ohio; granddaughter Stephanie (John) Grindel; great granddaughters Jasmyne Grindel (Fiancé Luis Daniel Negron) of Canton, Ohio, Skyla Grindel of Canton; brother William (Joan) Cannon of Senecaville, Ohio.

A graveside service will be held at Melscheimer Cemetery on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 11:00 am. with Pastor Tom Fox as officiant.

The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice for their wonderful, loving care and to thank special friends and neighbors Randy and Theresa.
