Zella M. Hershberger passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Aultman Hospital. She was born in Canton, Ohio, on August 2, 1937, to the late Arthur C. Decker and Helen M. (Janecek) Decker.
She was a life resident of the Canton area and retired from Sanese Services in 1998 after 20 years of service. She was a member of the East Canton Church of God and the Canton South AARP group.
Those left to cherish Zella's memories are her husband, Richard E. Hershberger, whom she married on November 24, 1978; 2 Sons, and daughter-in-law. Richard (Janet) Miday of Malvern, Ohio, and Jeffery Miday of Ocala, Florida. 4 Step-children and their spouses: Todd (Jennifer) Hershberger and Brian (Karen) Hershberger of Woodstock, Georgia; Rick (Kim) Hershberger of Cary, North Carolina; Tiffany (Andy) Enright of Newnan, Georgia. 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her brother, Chuck Decker of Canton; sister, Debbie (Don) Halverstadt of Canton; sister-in-law, Norma Decker of Malvern; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded by her parents; brother, Dave Decker; and a sister-in-law Shelly Decker.
Per Zella's wishes, there will be no public calling hours. An inurnment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to gather and celebrate Zella's life.
Arrangements are entrusted to Kreighbaum Sanders Funeral Home, 4041 Cleveland Ave S. Canton, Ohio 44707. Friends and family may share condolences and memories.
