Obituary

Betty Mayes, 91, went home to her Heavenly Father on January 12, 2023.

She was born July 27, 1931 in Canton to Miles and Olive (Coulter) Cole.

Betty served her country in the Women’s Army Corps.  She was a long-time faithful member of the Canton Baptist Temple, where Betty served as a Sunday school teacher for over 30 years.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Carol (Larry) Price, Sharon (Daniel) Mullane, Karen (Jeff) Shuster, Jane (Steve) Anderson; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Kalani, Norma (Frank) Byers; and brother, Miles Cole.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn Mayes who passed away in 2006; granddaughter, Rachel Gessel; and brothers, Robert, Earl and William Cole.

A private graveside service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Canton Baptist Temple’s Camp Chof Fund, 515 Whipple Ave NW Canton, OH 44708.
