Age 90, passed into God’s hands peacefully in the presence of his beloved family on Thursday September 22, 2022. Dean lived an amazing life full of love for his family and friends followed by his love for sports. He is also survived by his sister Carol Lowry; sister-in-law Mable Lou “Boody” McLean; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim & Dorothy Marks; 19 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren. Dean is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Mildred McLean; brother, Jack McLean; sister, Carolyn McLean; brother-in-law, Jack Lowry; grandson, Jack Walencewicz.

Dean graduated from Canton South High in 1949 where he was a standout left-handed pitcher. He worked as a carpenter for Eckinger Construction for 45 years and did countless construction projects for family friends over the years. He coached his sons’ little league baseball teams and was an avid supporter of his family’s extracurricular activities.

Dean was the best husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and friend. His gift to all was his ability to laugh and befriend everyone he met. He was an avid fan of Ohio State, Indians, Cavs and even the Browns. He was lifelong friends with his six-couple “Card Club,” whose families remained close over the years. Dean was a longtime member of the Martin Luther and Holy Trinity Lutheran Churches, Canton Gyro Club, Canton Township Volunteer Fire Department, Trinity Lodge #710 F&AM, and a member of the HOF Luncheon Club. He was inducted into the Greater Canton Old Timers Fast-Pitch Softball Association Hall of Fame in 2001.  Dean spent his last days in the excellent care of The Gables of Canton and Traditions Health Hospice. His family is so grateful to every caregiver who provided comfort, care, and laughs.            `
