William L. Craddock

Age 86 passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2021 in St. Joseph Care Center following an extended illness. Bill was born September 9, 1934 to Joe Cephas and Susie (Kinder) Craddock in Putman County, West Virginia. In 1942 the Craddock’s moved to South Point, Ohio where Bill graduated from the local high school in 1953. He was a 1957 graduate of Harding College with a major in Social Studies, and a minor in Bible. Bill began his preaching ministry in June of 1957 with the Bateshill Church of Christ in Noble County, Ohio. The next 40 years plus were spent working with the Church of Christ in Cambridge, Ohio (1959-1963), Massillon, Ohio (1963-1971), Ravenna, Ohio (1971-1980), and the Ninth Street Church in Canton, Ohio (1980-1989). In October of 1989, Bill moved with the Ninth Street Church to a new building which became the 38th Street Church of Christ in Canton, Ohio which is currently Northwest Church of Christ. In the spring of 1999 Bill and his wife, Vee moved to Plantation, FL where he began working with the West Broward Church of Christ. In the fall of 2009 Bill and Vee moved back to Canton, Ohio and accepted an associate minister position with the newly formed Northwest Church of Christ. Bill served on the boards of Ohio Valley University and the Northeastern Ohio Christian Youth Camp. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sons, Jeffery and Mark Craddock; four brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Venice “Vee” (Hazlett) Craddock; one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Tiffany Craddock; a daughter-in-law, Teresa Craddock-Starr; six grandchildren, David, Debbie, Jennifer, Daniel, Kaci, and Kenzie; four great grandchildren; one brother, TJ Craddock; a special family friend, Ellen Meyers. Funeral services will be Monday, June 7, 2021 at 6:00 pm in Northwest Church of Christ with Lance Lindenberger officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the church from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to Elara Care Hospice.
